Re: What is the most unusual cartridge you shoot?
For me probably the 358 in a new Hawkeye, the 8mm Rem. Mag., or the 22 Rem Jett. The Jet is a lot of fun it's chambered in a H&R Topper. Pretty easy to load for, since brass is made from .357 mag brass.

Re: Was your dad a hunter and gun collector?
My grandpa was a hunter and so is my dad. My grandpa only had three guns a 1400 Winchester 12ga., a Remington Nylon 66 Apache, and a Savage 110 30-06. My grandpa passed late Febuary of this year. My dad loves to hunt and fish. One thing I try to do that my dad did with his is always go hunting the f...

Re: Trigger on 788 Remington
There is the simple way and the real simple way. First use some lapping compound (available from auto stores) on the contact surfaces and run the trigger a few 50 times lol. Gun scrubber it all out and Tetra Gun Grease the contact surfaces. Enjoy!!! I did this on my 788 .22-250 and it really helped.

Re: OT- Remington 700 questions (722/788 added as well)
I have a 788 in 22-250 that is really accurate. Mags can be found if you look hard enough. I have alot of bolt guns too. One is a Classic in 8mm Mag, if I ever get a Ky. elk permit it and a 1895 Marlin in 45-70 are making the trip down. I also like the new M77 Hawkeye which I don't think anyone has ...

Re: Yep, it's a big'un that ol' 50-140
I have a 50-90SS on a Remington Rolling block that is a great shooter. With the 26" barrel it's actually pretty handy in the woods. I may carry it in the Sept. black bear season. The recoil isn't bad, but an extended session becomes very uncomfortable. The 50-140 is even bigger!

I've had great results out of the "Flying Trash Cans" out of my 1895. I push them to top velocity with a dose of RL-7. Accuracy is great too, open sights at 100 yield 1.5" for 3 shots.

OT-Remington extractors
Has anyone heard of Remington having extractor problems with their new rifles? I heard from a gun dealer friend of mine that 8 of 11 new Remington rifles he's ordered have had problems and had to go back to the factory with a messed up extractor. He mentioned something about a plastic extractor.
