Post by Bruce in WV »

Recovery from early July cancer surgery coming along more slowly that I'd hoped! I couldn't even put my Ruger Bisley BH back togther this afternoon cuz my hands still aren't steady enough to get the small parts aligned without dropping some! stuff! Sorry to back out, but there's always next time.

Do we have a head count of total # of people committed to coming? I've invited 2 buddies to come with me. Both are shooters and retired LEOs 1 of them own a Winny 9422.

Moody, are you cooking b'fast for all or should we have b'fast before we get there? What time is this party going to start?

I'm getting stoked for this trip and shoot.

What MikeS said.Where are we going to meet? Can we bring any thing to the party? For those of us arriving on Friday where are you staying-motel/camping? I am looking forward to meeting everyone and putting a few down range. :)

OK, I will be at the range Friday evening from about 5pm on. It is range c at RRRC. I cannot stay the night and will be unable to cook a breakfast. I am just not recovering that fast. Doctor's appt. next Weds. will let me know about being in vicinity of gunfire. The match WILL be run on schedule. Please pm me if you need any more specific information. Thanks, moodyholler

Thanks Moodyholler for the info. I'm sorry your recovery isn't progressing any faster. I'm sure hoping to meet up with you there.

To the rest of you I'd still like to see a head count.

I'll be there.

I don't know when I'll arrive. Was thinking of camping with Moodyholler, but not sure now.
Kind regards,

I decided literally at the last minute not to go. I got up at 4:45 this morning and took a shower. Then saw that it was pouring. So I checked on the weather channel and saw that it was raining all the way down to Roanoke. So between that and both of my buddies having bailed on me yesterday I deceided to bail on ya'all. Sorry about that.

Well guys how'd it go? I had to do some maintenance yesterday so I had to go to work. I did go bear hunting yesterday after I got off work at 11am with my 1895 45-70, so I at least had a levergun.

Update...... Fellows,I had a wonderful time at the shoot. If you missed it,that is a shame. The range is excellent. The area is beautiful. How many places can you shoot on a formal range up to 500 yds or watch a flock of 7 turkeys parade back and forth at the 200 yd mark.As Moodyholler said "the shoot is on rain or shine." Moodyholler AKA James and his sister Pat were the consumate hosts.A great big Thanks to both of you.Best regards to all,Ron

Hey yaw!!! Boreman is sure a nice feller!!! Thanks and it was a pleasure putting on a shindig. Just got off the phone with the match director and he is putting us on the list for another attempt in the spring. Dang, will have to post the pictures taken tomorrow. BTW, boreman is a 71 fanatic. I thought I had seen some nice 71's. His 284 Savage was a true delight at 500 yards also. Rain or Shine next spring, plenty of cover to stay in out of the weather. All for now, moodyholler

For the Spring Shoot I will try to make it. I don’t have any old guns but a few modern levers.
