Can anyone tell me how many Browning model 71's were made?
Carbine---
Rifle---
If there are a lot fewer carbines then I would think they would go for a premium--plus--it's handier and lighter to carry. Love mine.

I have several chromatic harmonicas as well as some diatonics. Couple custom made. Favorite is the Hohner CX-12 model in the Tenor tuning and with an add-on metal mouthpiece. The Tenor tuning is an octave lower than standard. After many years of playing 16 holers find I much prefer the 12 hole with ...

Good book, wilderness living
Recently read a good book about Trudy Turner's life in the wilderness of British Columbia. I've mentioned her dad who, at the age of 21 and in 1912, hiked about 60 miles inland from Bella Coola, B.C. and made himself a home and farm where he and wife Ethel raised their 3 kids. Two boys and a girl. T...

As I've said before--I shot a pigeon at about 30 yds using Ruger 10/22 mag and nearly shot it in half. Big difference in performance of 22 LR and 22 Mag Rim-Fire. Dead right there is a lot more doable with the 22 mag rimfire. As you get older and no longer enthused much with reloading, paying a litt...

Did anyone here ever make their pistol grip model 71 Winchester/Browning into a straight grip--or have it done? Malamute? Weren't you considering this? My dad didn't care for guns but he quite willingly helped me build my first reloading table.
It's for sure, parents want their kids to be happy. Most of the time the reverse is also true.

Have you had any reliability problems with the 336?

A good example of why it's a much better bet to buy a Browning Model 71 carbine.
It will nearly always be in better condition and for like condition you'll pay 1/2 or less. More likely 1/4 !
You're much more assured of a gun in very good condition.

Think you are right about big bike vs small bike safety. The "safety" is between your ears, whether big or small bike. This assumes adequate physical strength and sense of balance.
