Few new Guns to share

Post by ollogger »

I did real well at the local gun show here in town a couple weeks ago.
I finally have a few new guns to share.
Picked up a nice 25-35 Rifle and a cabine flat band is the one my wife picked up from SixGuns,
Had to throw the Henry in also, gifted to me by my wife for our 20th a couple years back and the 45 vaquero is one I picked up at the gun show. Got some good ammo and supplies too.
Refeshing to find something local for a change.
I had a table there and did some gun bickering.
Also, the 38-55 Cowboy, traded a 686 S&W for that. I was plum happy!
Hope you enjoy the album.

Ollogger,
Your on a roll partner! Tell us about the 25-35 rifle. You traded a 686 'Smith for a 38-55 Cowboy? What was the matter with the guy? Snortin' something white? :D Not that the 686 is a bad gun, its just they made a heck of a lot more of them than Marlin made 38-55's. To me, a 686 in nice condition, with the box is a $400 gun. Thats good "horse trading". You must have taken Tami along with 'ya to do the tradin' part.

Say "hi" to her for me!----------Sixgun

sixgun the 25-35 is nice, but wont stand up to your old one
it was made in 1918, bore is a little dark, but shoots just fine
its about 60 to 65 % seems like it a keeper
the 38-55 belonged to a guy that said he couldnt afford to shoot it &
that he liked the 686 & wanted to trade, heck i even threw in some factory 38s
them guns are some ill keep till there no more use to me, theres a few more with meaning to them, the rest i have is tradeing stock or maybe for sale

Very fine lookin' bunch you got there, ollogger. Especially like those 25's. So nice to pick up a big brother for the little fellow the wife got from sixgun. In the picture it looked like it might be d & t for a receiver sight?

I'm not enough of a Lyman guy to tell you for sure. I just went and looked at my old 336 that has a Lyman on it. It says it is a "66LA" and looks to me like it should work on a 94 (but you can't have this one :D ). The other Lymans I have go on Savages or Remingtons so I know those numbers won't work for you.

The 25-35 is a great gun. I will be coming through Wheatland on Satuday with my 25-35 headed to Laramie Peak country for some turkey hunting.
