I collect the old 1895 Marlins & I have every caliber chambered including the 45-85 Marlin. Pretty darn hard for me to sell or replace a Marlin with a Winchester.

No it was empty case. I think my sizing die maybe out of tolerance. RCBS said to send 3 fired cases & the sizing die & they would check the specs & make any corrections.

Jam is gone. Talked to a gunsmith & he said take a brass hammer or something that would not mar the receiver &
tap on the bolt several times. I did just that probably around 6 times & she freed easily. Must be one of the tricks of the trade

Marlin Jam

I have an old model 1895 that jammed on me. There is a fired round in the chamber & I can not work the lever to extract it. Tried a cleaning rod from the muzzle end no luck. Took gun apart & I can not move the locking bolt or the receiver bolt. Any suggestions are appreciated.

As far as the carriers for the old 1895 Marlins they are different according to caliber. I have all the calibers chambered in the 1895 Marlin & on occasion have them apart for internal cleaning. The carrier for the 45-70 & 45-90 is almost flat across while the 38-56 & 33 Win have more of...

I was in the hospital for kidney stones. While recuperating I asked for a laptop to some internet surfing. gunbroker & any other gun related websites had access blocked to them so you could get on there website. I think that is oppressive on the hospital's part.

I do not believe the pile of BS for one minute. I have a Marlin 1893 38-55 2nd year production. I have shot hundreds of cast bullets thru that gun & the bore shines like a new dime. It cleans very easily with very
little leading. I do use bullets with gas checks.

In my Marlin 1895 I shoot a 280 grain cast bullet with a gas check. The load I found that works the best for me is 36 grains of IMR3031 gunpowder. In the 40-82 barrels it helps a lot if
slug your barrels. Accuracy will be improved.

I have a 25-36 Marlin which is a twin to the 25-35 only slightly longer.
The load that works best for me is 20 grains of IMR3031 with the 117
grain bullet. Good accuracy.

Hey jdad what caliber is the deluxe? Looks like a dandy. Some of my accurate Marlins are TD's.
Plus they are a lot easier to clean. I have a deluxe 32HPS & a 38/55 both in 1893 that I use
