Ditto about not letting wives clean cast iron. I also use kosher salt And a dab of oil with a paper towel to clean cast iron. The salt is soft enough to not affect the seasoned surface while being hard enough to abrade food deposits away. Then I re-season the pans; as time goes on they take less and...

I get them and I usually sit in a darkened room until they pass (usually a half hour). They are disorienting if I try to walk or drive. I get about 4 - 5 per year. Way better than the painful kind.
