Good sixgun smiths in Pacific Northwest?

Fellas, I finally got my Blackhawk in .44 Special to the range, and I really like it. Now I want to have it Taylor -throated and a really crisp trigger job done. Who can you recommend here on the left coast who will do fine work and not break my piggy bank?

I have one myself, a flat top .44 special. Whats wrong with the way it came from ruger? These guys bragg on the accuracy. I havent worked with mine much yet but I have a total 7 smiths, colts and the ruger all in .44 special so I must like em.

Bill, Taylor throating involves reaming the forcing cone to a gradual taper so the bullet centers itself as it enters the barrel, enhancing accuracy. It also removes any possible constriction from Ruger screwing the barrel too tightly into the frame. A less expensive option is to fire-lap the barrel, which I may end up doing instead.
At my age and with my eyes, I need as good a trigger and as accurate a barrel as possible to shot groups under two inches at 25 yards.

Yeah, that 24-3 shoots better than me. (They all do.) Those are faux ivory from eagle grips. Still have the originals. Many years ago I shot a few of them off the bench together. The old triplelock was the most accurate, also outshot a model 29-2 I have. The tripelock was sent to the factory in 1949 and the target sights were installed. The 7 1/2" colt started life as a 1906 copper queen gun in 44 wcf but was converted to .44 special by king gun works and old gun writer tommy bish. I had that 5" smith converted to .44 special as I had found a .44 special barrel, bougth a old cheap heavy duty and had it rechambered. The 1950 target is original from the 1950`s. The short barrel colt saa is a stock 3rd generation. I used to have another ruger I had converted from .357 about 35 years ago.

The more I think of it, the cyl is more important. If the bullet swages down too much before it hits the bbl, it won't work right....

I'm 63 myself; I'm the guy who either forgets to take his meds or forgets he took 'em and double doses (tends to get interesting when the blood sugar nose dives). Now where was I? This is the thread about cooking turkeys isn't it?
