I have an older Rem 760 carbine in 30.06 that is pretty durn accurate, and the best firearm I have found for when you have a flock of pigs come out on you.

Love them Sweedes! Any idea what kind of load he was using? I like the 120-130 grain bullets on whitetail and hogs, but I have never had a chance to take anything bigger with it.

I would love to get a lever in 41 mag. I haven't killed a deer with one but I have killed hogs up to 250 pounds with 215 grain gc bullet and it has done a good job.

I have an older Rossi in 44 mag, Rifle shoots well, but last couple of times out I get a light primer strike, no ignition every once in a while, maybe one out of 9 or ten shots.Every thing apears intact, and its clean and well lubed. Any ideas?

The sweede rules. I have four, a sporterized m96/38, a sporterized m94, an unmolested m96, adn a combo 12 gauge over 6.5x55. All of them are very accurate and the round is deadly on deer sized game. Buy it.

Good job, I always enjoy introducieng newbys to the sport. Next weekend our club is having a youth rifle shoot which is always a blast. Last year we had 38 shooters about 1/2 of which had never fired a gun. I hope this years turnout is as good.

I have seen Fl Panthers 6 or 7 times in east central fl , and tracks about 20 times. They were in 2 locations about 30 miles apart so I think it was 2 different cats. Sadly I no longer have access to the properties where I spotted them so I do not know if they are still in the area.

Love my #3 in 45/70. I have not found a load it does not shoot well from 300 grain JHP to 525 grain cast.
With the stouter loads, a lot of people do not want to shoot it a second time though. :twisted:

I will have to keep an eye out for some then. I never could come up with a heavy cast bullet load I was happy with in my 1895 45/70, which is one of the reasons I parted ways with it.

Unfortunatlely my 44 has a microgrove barrel, so big heavys are out of the picture. Mostly want to get sosmething close to the factory RP load, which my rifle likes pretty well.

Have not had much luck loading cast bullet in Marlins with Microgrove barrels. In 35 Rem and 45/70 that is, back when I had my 444 I was not into reloading so I don't know about them but I would think they would be the same.

Kinda suprised they did not steal it the first time the tried. GM vehicles of that era are about the esiest to steal. Visible deterant ie club or such, and kill switch would be the way to go. I would get some 2 wire and a togle switch, splice into start signal wire to starter.

The club I belong to has anual dues of $100. All ranges outdoors. 1 range is 25-100 yards, 1 50 yard, 1 100 yard only,1 200 yard only, 1 300 yard only. 3 25 yard pistol ranges, 2 steel plate pistol setups out to 25 yards, and a dedicated arcery course. Its about 10 miles from home.
