New Hunter/Shooter is successful!
Andres got a short break from serving our Country. He wanted to try hunting. Having never shot a sporting rifle or hunted, I taught him to use a scope and different kinds of sights- he was familiar with M4 open sights. He like the scout scope setup on my sons 360DW levergun. We went out late in the afternoon on a spur of the moment deer hunt. The stars aligned and at last light we intersected a buck. Perfect shot placement put him down quickly. The 180 gr A Frame at 1900 fps hit the neck on a frontal shot and lodged in the pelvic junction where the spine meets the pelvis. Andres had two lady friends along to observe. They both eat deer meat but one of them is coming back to hunt on her own. This hunt was partially sponsored by Leverguns Forum Members and the next "Send a kid hunting for the Holidays Hunt" is coming up.

Awesome, and hopefully the beginnings of a lifetime of enjoyment.

Always good to see a new hunter join the ranks. What kind of rifle did he pick up?

Life is a storm, my young friend. You will bask in the sunlight one moment, be shattered on the rocks the next. What makes you a man is what you do when that storm comes.
