I was going to set up at 100 yards to shoot a 'yote... but the wireless remote for the caller only works to 75 yards. I think that's too close for Wiley Coyote.

Nice way to break in your rifle. I have six rifles that each need a deer!

I want one of those Pattern 21 rear sights for my Browning 1895! Your posts tempted me to convert it to 35 Whelen, but I think I will leave it chambered in 30-06.

Thanks, Griff... it's been years since I owned a Winchester, and now I have two 94s. Normally, I wouldn't think about getting anything made after I was born, so I'm not up to speed with the new fangled gizmos. I'm just glad this one has no safety!

Thanks for the kind words, folks!

Turns out a simple 3/4" nylon webbing strap 4.5' long with ladder lock works just fine for a single point sling, through the saddle ring and on the shooting shoulder.

Yeah, the trigger is acceptable... barely. I'll have to work on that, and study up on the rebounding fix. I'm looking forward to trying a large leather loop on the saddle ring, instead of a rifle sling. This little thing only weighs 5.9 lbs! :D Here are some pictures: http://i98.photobucket.com/albu...

The only other trapper I've had was a Rossi 92 in Ruger 480. I thought that would be a barker, but it was a joy to shoot.

I usually find shooters that are in shooter condition... but today at a LGS I found a 1981 Winchester 94 30WCF saddle ring top eject no-safety 16" barrel without a box that looks brand spankin' new for $300 out the door! Took it home and put a Williams FP on it; it's not drilled for a tang sigh...

There are some single shot 32s out there that could be converted very easily. Folks have reamed the chamber on a 32 cal Marlin 94 so the could shoot 327. I have never wanted a new production Remlin 94, or a new production Rossi 92, but if they made one in 327 I might be tempted. Since 32 cal levers ...

Last year a friend borrowed my Browning 1895 30-06 on opening day. At 25 yards, he shot a buck through the front of the chest. The heart exploded and vanished.
