Nylon 66 - killed my first squirrel with that rifle way back when. Broke the stock while horse back in HS.
Won my second rifle at a skeet match when I was 10. Won a shoot off against adults. Still have that rifle. I have put a bizzilion rounds through that rifle.

I'd also recommend the peep from Stevesguns. He put one on mine and slicked it up. It is the perfect handy little rifle, and high on the neat scale.

I've handled one of these. Major cool points for looks, not so good for actual use. The grip angle, diameter etc was all wrong for me. I'll stick with the traditional handled knives.

AUGS are very nice rifles - piston driven reliability, great mags (10, 30 and 42). Two negatives from my perspective are the trigger and length of pull. Might try trapping and snaring those critters. Maybe find a trapper to come help you out if you are not interested. Traps continue to work even when you are not there.

The AR pistol has the advantage over the AK pistol due to the buffer tube. You can use that tube as third (face) and fourth (shoulder) points of contact. They are much easier to shoot faster and more accurately than the AK pistols. Only use the pro-mags when you feel like practicing your malfunction...

I think any high capacity gun (snubby 38s need not apply) applied in an accurately and aggressively will probably handle any such situations. How many of those injured or killed were combat vets that could have punched this guys ticket if they had only had a gun. Anti guns laws killed more people today.

I've got 2 .177 air rifles an air arms tx200 (930 fps) and a RWS 48 (1100 fps). I use either of these rifles to hunt squirrels. Either will kill a squirrel dead with chest or head shots. I not hesitate to shoot a rabbit with an airgun of similar power.

The XD has the same grip angle as a 1911. I had one tuned up by Dave Bowie, and gave it to my dad. It is his primary carry gun. Same size as a commander, but has 14 rounds of 45.

I wonder if the grasshopper did that to him self or if a bird did. I can't remember the name of the bird but there was a bird back in NM that would stick bugs on spines to eat later. That was one of the birds dad OK'd for shooting with the pellet gun.

Due to the areas I will be hunting this year I will be using my CVA Accura II or PSE bow. The CVA shoots those Barnes T-EZ sabots under an inch at 100 yards.
