After several years of not owning any lever guns, I saw these Rossi 92 stainless models and really wanted one. I used to have a new-production Marlin 1894C but it was kind of bulky and various screws kept coming loose.
I think the original Browning designed 1892 is one of the best balanced designs, and I really like the stainless steel hardware. I got the Skinner barrel mounted peep sight, which works a lot better than I would have expected, given its distance away from my eye.
One question for you folks, the edge of the slot on the receiver in the front of the loading gate is kind of sharp, how would you recommend smoothing it out al ittle?
File, sandpaper & emory cloth should polish any burrs right out. And that's about all I'd do.

One of the things you can do so you aren't dealing with that sharp edge everytime is instead of loading one round at a time, load the first round about half in and use the next round to push it on it doing the same for the consecutive rounds until its loaded. Then you can use a spare round to push the last one on in.
When removing the sharp edges, it is best to do it by hand and stop often to check your work. It has been said here often that you can always remove more, but it is hard to put the steel back on.
