Re: Cartridge Type Quiz - Whathamacallit ?

Didn't the military have some sort of cartridge where the primer was not visible? I am trying to remember the name for what I am trying to describe, but if I am not confusing it with something else it is in the case head still but it looks like the bottom of the cartridge is flat brass, but there is...

When he says dogless, that means it is set up so the pan itself hooks to the jaws to act as a trigger, instead of the pan holding down a thin piece of metal (a.k.a "dog") that holds down the jaws. It is hard to describe but when you see it it makes sense. The trap will definately catch dog...

I once saw a picture of a #0 jump in the set position setting on the pan of a set No. 9. It was completely dwarfed.

Any idea what this new trap will go for? Still have the 9 inch jawspread?

I'm pretty sure it was never called the 1874

Ha, I could live with 18, that ain`t but another year and a half. As far as drinking, I couldn`t possibly care any less about that - but the thought of being able to buy a six gun in as little as one more year and a half does sound mighty nice.

Being under 18, I just have to wonder what are the chances that, if the SCOTUS rules in favor of any person being able to own a gun and that the ban is unconstitutional, they will get rid of minimum ages to buy firearms? I am probably not that lucky, but still the thought crossed my mind.

Worth anything?

I don`t want it or anything but was curious to what it`s value is after all it`s been through? I think $40 or $50 at the top end.

Game Keeper, could you enlighten me on the trapping regulations over there? Aren`t yall in the International Agreement on Humane Trapping Standards or something like that along with the rest of the EU and Canada which requires conibear traps almost exclusively?

Thanks for the replies, yall. A point I would like to touch on- It isn`t ALWAYS possible to use an animal. I am working for a guy now to rid his place of beavers. I get paid per beaver(well, will- haven`t fully got started trapping there yet), and the beaver hides are getting to where a lot of them ...

Yeah, well, the property issue can be fixed, just find a place you want to trap and ask permission. The bad thing is, the citizens of the fine state of Caliphornia have made all but cage traps illegal, unfortunately.

Just wondering.

Many outdoorsmen have no problem with hunting and fishing and such but they really believe trapping is cruel and should be illegal. These same hunters probably have never even seen a trap before and have no idea hoe humane modern trapping is. Foothold traps have no teeth and do no harm to whatever i...

Actually, I want a 25-35 or a Big Bore 50 Alaskan. However, I think the 25-35 is the most likely to happen of the two.
