Nope, the toasty Coasties are not part of the "Armed Forces" except in time of war. The dopes on a rope are a subset.

That is SUPER neat... deserving of it's own post! I like the wood as is; but if too shiney for you... just knock off the glare with some 6-0 steel wool.

I believe the same rear sight as the '73 would be appropriate: Winchester Repro 73, 76 and 86 Serrated Adj Sight.

IMHO, the roots of the Revolution lie in colonial taxation. I am sure there are some on-line references to the various Acts by King George and the British Parliment that imposed taxes on the colonies.

With "scant" rifling, how hard are yer bullets? Although you don't find any burrs, is the rifling @ the muzzle equal in depth? Have you tried loads around 1200fps? Hard bullet, scant rifling & hi-speed in combination could cause unstable flight. Change one factor and you might regain s...

I feel Starline is a little more brittle than W-W. Thicker, a tad less case capacity. I love it for my smokeless rounds, but with BP it doesn't seem to expand as much and I get a lot more blowback in the rifle.
