Always plugs as a mininum, anything centerfire I use electric muffs and sometimes plugs and muffs. I've always used protection when shooting but for years never wore any when riding my motorcycle. I load the mag tube and work the action. I don't have a semi-auto or bolt and I find that's easier for me and my leverguns. As for the discussion about loaded or unloaded chambers while hunting. That's about as good a combo as you can get. I know that 45-70 will bring down anything in your neck of the woods, but I think this will should do just fine too.

There's a mighty fine line that we flirt with when ya start rehabing an injury or surgery. Push to a point and ya get better quicker, cross that line and that leads to big set backs. I'm glad to hear you're back in a stand. Take care and good luck.

You are a true craftsman. From start to finish they are both fine looking and functional as can be. With the removable blade you got just what the doctor calls for. Won't offend nobody and fairly quickly you got a heck of a fighting weapon for hogs or slobs. Great job!

The cars of that era are cool and the drivers were something. They had to drive em with a chassis that wouldn't hold a candle to todays. The tires were good for the time but by todays standards not so good. Carbs instead of EFI. Electronic ingnitions were just coming around. None of these modern era...

My sympathies. I live in Illinois and we have to renew our FOID (Firearm Owners Identification Card) every 5 years. I can't buy ammo without it or even touch a gun at a show.
