New Guy: Two leverguns AND a plate

Post by Gibson »

One must open up somewhere, so here we go!

Purchased my first two leverguns.

This one should be at our FFL. It is a Marlin 1895 45-70 22" barrel. MG:

This one was just purchased via GB. It is a Marlin 336 RC 30-30 20" barrel (1951):

This is a plate I shot yesterday, the round to the left was the first shot, the other six followed. Then it got too dark to shoot anymore.

BFR 500 S&W Mag 7.5" barrel

465 grain bullet @ ~1626 fps.

50 yards

Thanks, fellas!

The BFR gets the credit for the shooting. Highest praise for the big 500 mag. I love that thing.

Shooting ANY handgun like that at fifty yards is impressive, much less that hand-cannon... 8)

Welcome to a great forum and you do have some fine rifles.
Prayers for your son's healing and for ya'll to stay strong in the Lord.
Do you go to Memphis for the treatments?

Thank you.

Yes. We spent eight weeks there at the beginning. Now my wife and son go once a week, on Thursdays. I stayed the first eight weeks, in Memphis but now I hold down the fort, as we have 3 other children (two sets of twins). They leave out in the early morning and get home in the afternoon. Only 29 more weeks! Then we cut back to monthly visits. It has been just over two years since the day my world stopped spinning. I'm not too good of a Christian but I sure spent days on end begging for it to be me not him. To no avail.

But my boy is on the road to recovery, actually well down the path, I hope.

I sure do like the wood on that Marlin, nice old oil finish looks great. What year is it?
