Re: Big Horn Armory Model 89 500 S&W Levergun
I remember Mel Tappan and his articles in Guns and Ammo as well as his books. Will get the 18" with a fiber optic front sight and scout scope mount. My main concern was how well the straight walled cartridge fed in the action. Experience with the 92 action with .357 or .44 Mag has revealed feed...

Big Horn Armory Model 89 500 S&W Levergun
Kicking around ordering one. $600.00 non refundable deposit and 5-6 month build time. Hear of any issues with delivery or shipping? Customer service?
I have a 8 3/8" and 4" 500 S&W revolvers and the dies and bullet molds, so ammunition isn't a problem.
Opinions?

Browning 1886 45-70 SRC
Been hitting the local shops since my flu furlough. Of the three guns I bought the last two days, I got a Browning 1886 45-70 SRC. I bought it for the fact it does not have the rebounding hammer and tang safety. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaZw0DV0lF4 This video is what I have. According to the ...

Bought a Marlin 39AS ten or so years ago that would not fire until I removed the lower leg of the hammer strut to eliminate the rebounding feature. Seems to be a not infrequent occurrence. The hammer would not go far enough to strike the firing pin, stopping abruptly 1/4" or so from it.

I liked Skeeter Skelton's magazine article on the 32 H&R Magnum Single Six years ago in SHOOTING TIMES. I thought that it was a good idea. Elmer Keith also spoke well of the 32 caliber handguns. Ruger/Lipseys Single-Seven .327 Federal Magnum intrigued me as the best platform for the cartridge. T...

Tycer, you were very fortunate. The next sting could produce a more severe reaction, so it's a great thing to have EpiPens on hand. I have always been intrigued by the .44 Special bulldog revolvers by Charter Arms. Thank's for the pictures and responses. I spent the other day at the gun club shooting it with .38 Spec. 158gr. LSWC and factory .357 Magnum loads. Rossi 92 chamber issue
A friend just bought a Rossi 92 .357 Magnum 16" BBL. I noticed that the chamber appears to have been "throated" similar to a 1911, it looks egg shaped. It does feed .38 Special 158gr. LSWC flawlessly. Has Rossi modified the chamber on newer 92's, or has someone else worked on it?

I replaced the factory rubber wrap around with some Herrett's cocobolo wood stocks from CDNN. They are much thinner and are bargin priced. Just bought a Ruger SR9 to keep the round count low on mt HP. Grip is even thinner than the HP and feels good.
