Re: Modifications to win 94 affect value?
If the holes are not factory then I deduct 40-50%. Over the years I have watched the auctions and if someone is collecting they will purchase in this range. If just to have one or for a shooter price usually only varies about 20%.

Re: 9422LR "Classic"
Check the serial number etc. to make sure it is the first issue of the Classic. If it is the later Classics issued then it is a toss up. It will depend on overall condition, bbl. length, type of buttplate etc. Good Luck

Re: 9422LR "Classic"
I have 5 of these early classics. Pete is correct as they were manf. only 2 years 1985-1987 and they have the 23-1/2"barrels with pistol grip stock. These early ones were sure finished nice.

Re: Winchester 1894 oddity. Need some help.
I might add that yours is a Winchester Sporting Carbine. I have two of these in your serial number range complete with factory boxes which state they are a sporting carbine. I used to have one of these and the barrel wasnt dovetailed. However you could order one from Winchester in any configuration....

You can take a regular tube and cut it down on the receiver end to the length you need. Your gunsmith should be able to do this on his lathe. Good Luck

3T is correct. The older 94s you could get various thickness for the Locking Bolt #5094 or #5194 complete. They usually have the thickness stamping on the Locking Bolt.

The older Winchester Original saddle ring was approx. 1"dia. and thickness was 1/8". I still have some Factory Originals and just measured them for you. If you need any further info feel free to send me an email.

I understand there were only a few in the U.S. as they were made for Canadian Sales but a few were sold in U.S. and are somewhat scarce in the low serial numbers. It was made in 1977 (under 5000 mfg)so you could get the Cherokee to go along with ...
