Winchester 1894
fellas, I am working on a beat up ole .30-30 that will in time be a fine shooter and a good looker-not the new as it was one time surely but down the next road a fine shooter loaded with 180 grn hardcast from Montana bullet.
In any case after searching many websites I have not found a site that has the replacement part in question and that is......7394X the serial number of the rifle is 3789###. I am hoping Hobie and company can help me out here.
appreciate any help.

That number, 7394X, means nothing to me. For what part are you searching?TimT wrote:fellas, I am working on a beat up ole .30-30 that will in time be a fine shooter and a good looker-not the new as it was one time surely but down the next road a fine shooter loaded with 180 grn hardcast from Montana bullet.

Re: Winchester 1894
thanks for both sites...have tried them and numerichs had very little parts available. apologize for not naming the part number...it is a trigger stop spring. the post versions from what I have gathered have used 2 different springs and to be specific the one previously mentioned is much needed. I was hoping someone had a good junk box with some lever parts accumulated from many yrs. of "stashing"
thanks for now.

thanks for now.

Re: Winchester 1894
Part # 7394X is the Trigger Stop Spring for rifles with serial numbers under
4, 580,000. This is for rifles with the flat main springs.
7494X is the part number for the Trigger Stop Spring for the rifles above 4,580,000 using the coil main spring.
I don't have one, maybe Griff or 20 Cows might.
Here is a couple places to check:
Winchester Bob's: http://winchesterbob.com/
Winchester Parts Listing:
http://www.winchesterguns.com/services/parts/terms.asp
If you follow through the pages there is a list of sources for obsolete Winchester parts.
I hope this helps some.

Tim,
Griff and 20Cows, members here, have a tendency to just gather parts and build their own Win 94s. They've come up with some dandy combinations too. That's why I mentioned them.

Re: Winchester 1894
Numrich has the post-64 trigger stop spring for serial numbers above 4,580,000 listed as part #301950.

Re: Winchester 1894
I got most of my parts like that on ebay. It's a shame they don't like guns!

Re: Winchester 1894
well I just found a Win. 94 without the lower tang assembly that is in the 4992###, now what am I going to do?Mike D. wrote:Numrich has the post-64 trigger stop spring for serial numbers above 4,580,000 listed as part #301950.

Re: Winchester 1894
I don't believe I have a spare for that vintage, but echo trying Winchester Bob's. This part is simply a wire spring and can be made from good spring stock.

Good luck and welcome.
Edit: My bad, just looked, you want the 2nd version, which is a flat spring, very similar to the 3rd style, but without the portion for the coill mainspring. As the 3rd style is held in place by the same rollpin as the trigger block safety; I believe you can modify the third style by cutting off the holder for the coil mainspring. Parts are still available from USRA/Brownig/FN as p/n U346420870 TRIGGER STOP SPRING. At $1.50, I certainly try it.

Re: Winchester 1894
Griff, that is pretty keen thinking-I like that. Creative ingenuity!
Win, I will keep you in mind, may have something off of Gun.Broker that may be the right spring. I am getting quite a few 94's accumulated without the lower tang and/or busted trigger stop spring here
---free! Guess my new hobby is learning/building 94's in the near present.
thank you all kindly.

Re: Winchester 1894
Griff: The spring in your picture is for the Pre-64, part #7394. The one after that is part #7394X and was a flat type. Then they went to part #7494X which is flat with a V on the end. Hope this may help.
***** Well I should have read the bottom of your response. Boy this old age is getting worse!!!!!!!!!
