Re: Values

I was just trying to see if I needed to leave original of modify. Thinking of adding a tang sight or if I can find a Redfield peep adding that. I don't see the value being affected much doing this. The value is more for the family since I now longer get rid of shooters. Regretted every one I sold......

Been in the books all weekend and am really getting tired of it. :( Looking forward to next weekend, going to the farm and trying out this rifle. Hope it does as good as my 94XTR. If it does, what should I do with the other 4 30-30s? I tell you life can get real complicated... My son was rubbing in ...

PRICE CHECK - circa 1955 Model 94

Found a pre-64 model 94 Winchester 30WCF in a pawn shop. I doesn't show much wear, none to the blueing and no dings in the wood. The action is still tight like it hasn't been used much. No rust or scratches. Finish on the wood is age cracked but intact. Bore is clean. What range would a gun like thi...

Re: OT-Tried duck and goose hunting for the first time

I think any opportunity to be in the woods is great. I personally prefer duck hunting to any other. If I'm on the deerstand in the evening and ducks start coming in, I just can't resist. I'll climb down and check them out everytime. I guess we are blessed with plenty of game and are very fortunate t...

Re: What are you going to deer hunt with?

I'll probably stick with the 30wcf. I'll mostly use a Winchester model 94 with a Redfield peep. Or I could use a 94AE legacy with williams foolproof and firesite. Or a Marlin model 36 with buckhorn site. Or maybe a Marlin 336 with a Leupold 2 power fixed scope.

I do like a good 3030. :D

Is deer season in elsewhere? I don't see the posts. Had a quick start Saturday. Had to wait till 7:15 to get enought light to make out the front bead.
