35 Rem Marlin pawnshop find/price check.
I've a question for the Marlin-heads.
I went with my father this morning to the "honey hole" pawnshop were I've made some incredible buys looking for a Marlin in 35 Rem for my dad.
Now I did not get a SN# or do I have pics.
This Marlin has the same kind of stock as my 336T 30-30 but in a pistol grip. No Saftey, but did have the Big Warning letter stamped on the barrel.
The other marking was 336 35Rem. The tag did say Model 740 on it?
The out the door price is $319.00
The rifle is mint condition.
I will also add that there is no checkering and is the standard 20in barrel.
Would anyone know what kind this is?

319 seems a good price in general... but what do I know.
You check out that '94 in Kalamazoo for $275/OBO?

I'm curious as too what model it is.
I know that when went to the sport shop across the road and they wanted $515.00 new for the 336.

Make an offer. You'll probably be pleased. Always works for me.

Sounds like an early 1980s 336 to me if it has the warning, but no safety. I am not sure where they are getting the model 740 business. If it is in mint condition, that is a fair price. You might be able to get them down to $300 OTD. They are very nice rifles and you wont go wrong even for the asking price.
