Re: 450 Marlin brass question

yep, Hornady is the only game around I can find.

I was told the Leverevolution brass was about .050 shorter due to the nose length of the FTX bullets.

I've never had a Winchester fail to go bang in anything yet, can't comment on the Mil-spec, but have heard they had a thicker cup to hinder slam fires.

Re: Mini 348 Range report

I shoot the 450gr and 500gr Kodiaks from my 50 Alaskan and 50-110, bears didn't go anywheres when hit by them either, but I never recovered any of those bullets. I also have 5-6 boxes of the old .348 230gr Northforks to load and play with this spring. I've had excellent results on elk and moose with...

Re: Mini 348 Range report

I tend to stay away from bonded bullets, like the Kodiak, simply because it usually takes a good bit of velocity to get them to expand. If you've tried these bullets on anything (deer, pigs, bear, elk) I'd sure like to hear about it; especially regarding terminal velocity and expansion. Again, than...

thanks.

I found a stainless 475 blank I had tucked away for whatever reason, thought maybe I'd rebarrel this 480 of mine in octagon if there was enough room.

my best so far is a 375#ish spring bear from Manitoba. I've seen bigger bears up there, and anymore I hold off to connect on one of those big boys .............unless decent color phased bear comes in, then it's hammer time.

50-110 or 50 Alaskan is always my choice.

lol. I did have a BPCR in 45-70 once, that gun would flatout shoot everything you put in it.

Then I see these and get to thinking about punching one out to 50-140!!

I checked, it does move freely, but I can't tell if the spring is weak or if the plunger is wore.

I take it apart later today and compare it to my Browning, but my luck, the mikour's will be all together different.

71 lever problem

Geesh, been awhile.

Have a 71 Winchester that the lever won't stay closed unless you keep your hand in it.

I remember seeing a fix for it on the old board, but heck if I can remember what it was.
