Re: MOVIES - The Golden Compass
We never compare the Gospel to anything else. We compare everything else to the Gospel as it is the very foundation of truth

"From Where the Sun Now Stands"
Just got through reading a novel titled "From Where the Sun Now Stands". It's written from the Nez Perce point of view and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Written by Will Henry, it seems to be well researched. A good read, I'd recommend it to anyone who hasn't had the pleasure yet. This story wou...

Here's what the final layout of the picture will look like. The extra space under the caption is for the wire coil binding. Thanks again for your input. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/3855Win/February-thumb.jpg WE HAVE A WINNER! I like this layout. I have an old Winchester 94 with a half-oc...

If the lock up of the rifle is inconsistent, I'd refrain from shooting it until you get it fixed. Firing a rifle out of battery could have dire consequences

Re: POLITICS - A little Rebellion now and then...
Yes, the South fought a war to be independent of the federal government. Why? So they could continue the practice of slavery. President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation with one priority in mind- to preserve the Union. There was a grassroots movement among the people of the nation to get...

Re: OT-bolt action 223 or 243 for grandkids?
I think that would be a great idea! Ammo for either is plentiful and recoil light. As much as I like the 788, I think a 700 series or Ruger M77 would be better as you don't have to worry about losing the magazine. Matter of fact, I think I might favor the Ruger as the fire control system of the Remi...

Re: POLITICS - A little Rebellion now and then...
Look at the states that are oppressing our rights, such as California, New York and Massachusetts just to name a few. These states are notorious for the constant vilification of firearms owners and the oppression of liberties. Do you want to give these states even more power to oppress? The states t...

Heh! I remember when selling or buying at the gun show. Walk by a table with a rifle for sale. Table Troll would call out to me "Hey! How much for your rifle?" "$400" "We sold one just like it not fifteen minutes ago to a guy for $500." Then I'd walk by with one I'd jus...

I've been considering a fully camo AR-10 in 308 or 300RSUM for a couple years now ! I just don't like the idea of the thing slinging my brass all over the country side when I hunting ! With a bolt or lever action I have become pretty good at catching the brass with my off hand when I work the actio...

....And I also agree that if the frippin congressmen were the ones going into harm's way, that this would have been taken care of many years ago. Like in the 60's. Yeah, if it'd been our Congressmen going into harms way, we'd have made sure they were issued muskets with marshmallow bullets and wet ...

When I first started working at McDonnel-Douglas, we had good medical benefits and it was an HMO. But each time the Union went to bargain for a new contract, it got worse and worse. Under the first contract, I had $0 co-pay and it cost me less than $8 per week to cover my entire family. I picked a d...

Hard to see what I'm typing through the tears. Lost the Ruger Single Six flat gate my father gave to my son. Dad bought it back in '60 or so when he first moved out to California. I carried that Ruger on a lot of rabbit hunts out in Mojave. Dad gave it to my oldest son for his first birthday. About ...
