Re: Remlin quality seems to be on the rise....
As I stated above I inspected several Remlingtons and 2 had crooked sights. I usually pull the sights off anyway but I am with others who are thinking "what else is wrong?" with this gun. I ended up spending considerably more on a Ruger 77/22 Stainless/Synthetic in 22 wmr but the quality ...

Perhaps mechanically, they are finally making a few non-lemonington's. For me, the pictured gun is laminate not walnut..... not to my liking and the dimensions of the stock resemble a fence post. Use a tang sight on my .303 Savage whose balistics and reloading components are identical to .30-.30 Winchester. Pushing a 170 grain bullet atop a load of IMR 3031 which is a couple grains over max according to current data. But then my Savage 1899b has a 26" octagon barrel and the recoil isn't...

Or maybe i just lucked out? Picked up an 1895 GBL in .45-70 the other day. Fit and finish is decent, sights are straight and it cycles ammo reliably. The barrel date stamp codes it as maunfactured in 2015. Will see how it shoots. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v507/Win94/Guidegun_zpsbglrctx1.jpg ...

@ Win94 my Great Grandfather's circa 1908 love that octagonal barrel, that's beautiful. Yuppers. Have my Great Grandfather's circa 1908. Shoot 30 grains of IMR 3031 under a 170 grain Sierra flatnose. Bore is very dark on the ol girl. Haven't really played with alot of loads but i can muster up ok hunting accuracy at 100 yards i guess...... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v507/Win94/S...

Be sure your barrel is the new 1 in 20 twist rather than the old microgroove 1 in 38 twist. The older twist rates do not stabilize those leverlution bullets very well and accuracy can be horrendous. I have heard the Leverlutions work in some old 1 in 38 twists but not often. If you have the older 1 ...
