Re: Marlin 32-20 coyote kill
I shot a coyote while hunting blue grouse in the mountains a couple months ago. I use a Savage Model 23 .32-20 quite a bit for grouse as it anchors them well with my soft load (105gr flat point at 1150fps) with little damage. This coyote was 110 yards out and 'leavin' Dodge'. The first shot I angled...

Re: Same Cast Bullet for Both 405 Win. and 40-82 WCF?
You could also shorten the bullet's nose some for the .40-82....... You will lighten the bullet and would win both ways then by using the crimp groove and having the slower .40-82 twist happier. You will probably be sizing the bullet pretty heavily for the .40-82...... At least .006" and maybe ...

Actually, Hodgdon came out with a series of "Clays" powders. Three different ones to be exact... The fastest burning one is called just "Clays".. It has a burning rate similar to Red Dot. Slightly slower burning is "International Clays".... It has a burning rate similar...

Has anyone eaten a crow????? I know we all had to "eat crow" before.... But I mean really eat a crow? I have asked this question at least 30 years now when these type of discussions come up. AND NO ONE HAS EATEN CROW! I would really like someone to tell me what they taste like..... 2520WHV

Re: Lyman Loads for the 32-20 IMR 4198
Kirk, The IMR 4198 load may work for your application but will shoot filthy dirty..... For .32-20 WHV equivalents I have found Accurate 1680 the best (for lower pressure applications). Pressures are low for muzzle velocity achieved; barrel stays relatively clean; they shoot accurately; SD's are low ...

Re: want semi auto but like my 30-30
Just saw a Remington Model 8 at Cabela's in St Louis in .30-30. Had to look twice because I thought I was seeing it wrong. But the markings were clear. Very early in production, the Model 8 was referred to as the .30-30 Remington.... The '30-30' was soon dropped as being too confusing as to correct...

Re: 32-20 ammo
I think w30wcf is era correct....
No mention of "Staynless" (non-corrosive) primers on the box and the little "W" on the primer also date them back closer to WW1. I would bet those 115gr 'Full Patch' bullets have cupronickel jackets as well!

Rem-Umc and Peters headstamps left us with Peters leading... Soon a common headstamp R-P took their place. I'm thinking these changes took place from 1958 to maybe 1962. I could be off a year or two.... That was a while back now...

Re: 32-20 vs 25-20 in a rifle.
There is NO easy answer to this! I have used both extensively for many years. They both are so good it's hard to pick a winner! I have Savage Model 23's in both calibers.... I have come to testing both together on my 85 yard range. They seem to group better. They almost seem to compete for the tight...

I am sticking with my answer. The sizing dies is sizing it too small. Old Savage, You are correct. It is the 'one size fits all' syndrome! T/C has sold a lot of Contender barrels in .32-20.... They use .308" groove diameter. RCBS changed the full length die to size enough to use .308" bul...

The other was a Model 94 carbine in .25-35 WCF. I still look today. I don't know why the value is so high,...

I get almost 80% nitrogen right out of my air compressor! I think the 20% or so O2 (Oxygen) in our air is what could bother the pressure sensors in the newer wheels via oxidation. 100% N2 (Nitrogen) MAY increase the rubber life? Maybe...... So you get almost 80% Nitrogen for nothing! I don't think I...

No emery or a brush wont do the job, any rifiling left will spin the shot charge. I can't tell you whether it would shoot a long, but I don't believe it was chambered for it. I think Stevens chambered everything they made in rimfire .25 as the .25 Stevens which IS the Long version. The Short was only used as a lesser powered round not unlike a .22 Short being used in a .22 Long ...

.25 rimfire - they wasted all those Stevens Favorites which could have been made in 22LR instead. Sadly bulldog..... They sent the wrong gun for you. Somewhere around 1955 a new Lyman receiver sight for lever guns became the Lyman 66.
I'm not sure screw holes were the same spacing as the earlier 57 sight. Perhaps your gun is drilled and tapped for the Lyman 66?
