UMC 32 Spl.Ammo
I have a box of Rem. green box 32 Win. Spl. ammo. Headstamp is rem-umc, 32 spl. My question is when did they stop making ammo with the UMC headstamp?
Re: UMC 32 Spl.Ammo
Rem-Umc and Peters headstamps left us with Peters leading... Soon a common headstamp R-P took their place. I'm thinking these changes took place from 1958 to maybe 1962. I could be off a year or two.... That was a while back now...

Green box and has "Kleanbore" in a dogbone type background 1926-1929
Green box and has "Kleanbore" in a dogbone type background with an "R" prefix number on the right hand side 1930-1933
If the box is Green and Red and has the "R" prefix on the right hand side 1934-1942
Green box with a 4 digit number on the right hand side 1946-1960
UMC changed to Rem-Umc in 1911
R-P headstamp replaced Rem-Umc in about 1961.

Re: UMC 32 Spl.Ammo
Thanx, w30wcf. I have 2 boxes, the newest looking is definitely the 1946-1960 era box. The other has a tape tear on the right side of the box so I cannot confirm an 'r' or a 4 numeral number; but it looks like a darker green than the newer one.

You are most welcome. I had found the box information at http://cartridgecollectors.org/
Thankfully, I have a box from each of the time periods.
