Re: 357 carbine and deer: opinions on the 158 gr Hornady xtp
There are two styles of XTP bullets, HP & FP. When loading for deer, is there preference of one over the other, or does it matter?

Re: What happened to Wild West Guns (Alaska)
Went to www.wildwestguns.com and they show addresses and maps for both Alaska and Las Vegas. Appears as though they expanded without closing the original shop.

Re: looking for Buckeye companion for '92 in 32-20
There are a couple of Rugers on Gunbroker today. One is a convertable Vaquero 32-20/32 Mag. and the other is a Convertable Buckeye being sold as part of a set to include the 10MM/38-40. Both seem a bit pricey though.

Thanks Bis - It sounds like switching to the FP may solve my problem with elevation adjustments. My Lyman sight also has many inserts and is probably the same as yours. Not long ago, I purchased a used, but very good condition T/C Hawken with a similar globe front sight and a tang peep, but I have n...

I don't know much about the 45-70 other than watching a couple of guys shooting them at the local range. I find it hard to believe you can make a mouse fanny burp load with that caliber, but I've been wrong before. As others have stated, the .22 rimfire with the right load is probably the way to go....

Thank you for your responses. As I stated before, I've had a Marlin in 357 mag for a least a dozen years without a single problem. I have a co-worker that received a little used Marlin in .44 magnum last year for Christmas. He was very excited about his newly aquired rifle and anticipated taking it ...

I recall a good friend received a 999 Sportsman from his older brother for Christmas when we were in high school back in the late 70's. I thought it was about the neatest gift I'd seen one brother give another up to that point in my life and it still ranks right up there. A few years later I aquired...

Dreaded Marlin Jam
Does anyone know if condition known as "The Marlin Jam" affects all Model 1894 Marlins, including the octagon barreled Cowboy models. I"m deciding between a 24" barreled Marlin Cowboy & a Winchester Legacy, in .45 Colt. I have both models in .357 magnum and they have run for ...
