What happened to Wild West Guns (Alaska)

Post by 86er »

Last I knew Jim West was opening a store in Las Vegas and trying to produce his own rifle in-house. Now, their web-site doesnt work and nobody answers the phone. What happened?

They filmed a "reality" show not long ago at the AK shop. Could be they got overloaded and are having to set some new things up.

Otherwise, I dunno.

The crediters turned him down for a loan to produce the rifles in Alaska. Said it was too expensive and risky up there. Last nite in the season finale he was going to make an announcement on what was going on, of course it ended w/out him saying. But rumor is he's gonna close shop in Anchorage, and move everything to his Las Vegas store, where he can get rifles made there cheaper.

My last email from them was in Mid to late October. The address in the signature was Las Vegas. Haven't tried them for awhile, but hope he is still in business somewhere, after I get through with Elk season this fall, I may have a project or two to discuss further with him.

That would seriously suck, since back in the day Jim's place was the only "Serious" (vs. "stocking") gunshop in the Anchorage area. :(

Went to www.wildwestguns.com and they show addresses and maps for both Alaska and Las Vegas. Appears as though they expanded without closing the original shop.

They mentioned Phred has a boyfriend she likes to go play "paintball warrior" with. Hope this don't hurt yer heart too much.

They are on my saved searches on gunbroker. They are selling used firearms on there as always. Last rifle I had done there they told me they were opening a second shop in Vegas. They have my money on another rifle so I feel comfortable they are still in business.
