I've got a spare 9mm cylinder for my Ruger .357 Blackhawk. It shoots fairly well, and 9mm ammo is super cheap right now. I like having options.

I've been considering getting a .41 Magnum, but at this point in my life it's really hard to justify a new caliber. I view the .41 through the same lens at the .32 H&R: it makes sense, but I've got SO. MUCH. BRASS. in other calibers that adding something new just doesn't seem viable. Neither cal...

Glad you made it home, Jim! It's supposed to get up to a whopping 24 degrees today, then down to 2 degrees tonight. The roads are clear, but most of the snow on the ground is hanging around. Had to clear a spot just so the chickens would come out of the coop.

I made the walk through the snow to my range today. I just needed some trigger therapy, so I took my Winchester 62A .22 loaded with some .22 Shorts. Nice thing is that it'll shoot any .22 rimfire except magnums. My steel targets live down on my range, so I shot them. Not much today, but enough to ke...

The only shooting I've done the last few days was the raccoon that got into my shed during the daytime. Can't have them that close to my chickens. Other than that, I haven't tried to walk down to my range. Might have to do that today.

I have an old AR SP-1 (triangular fore end) which shoots well but the truth is that when picking a long gun in my locker to shoot, it would probably be the last I'd choose. I've got two Wilson Combat ARs, and they are fantastic to shoot, but I honestly haven't shot them since I taught a class with ...

My 30-30 Model 94 was made in 1941. It's one of my favorite rifles and travels with me often. However, it was my dad's gun, and I worry that if I have to use it defensively in any way it's gonna sit in an evidence room for God knows how long.
