The Speer 130gr Hot Cor and Winchester 748 has worked good for me in my pre-'64 Model 94. I started using the 130gr bullet based on JimT writing about it.

My dad died when I was four years old, November of '74. My grandmother came to live with us a week before he died. Other than her, I was never very close to any of my grandparents. But, my wife's parents are still very active, so my grandchildren (that we're raising) get to know and spend time with ...

I go here and the Frontier Sixshooter board, and a lot of the names are ones that were there when I joined in the early 2000s. We're all getting older, but getting the younger generations involved in anything that's not gamer related is difficult these days.

A dear friend of mine, who has gone Home now, had one of everything at one point or another. He was a collector and a shooter. I learned a lot from him, and miss him every day. For example, I told him one day I was thinking of getting a Remington 700 in .17 Remington and he told me "I've got tw...

I've got an Olight red dot on my Glock 43X MOS. After 600 rounds it's still holding up. It's my first pistol mounted optic so I didn't want to to all in just yet, but so far my older eyes really appreciate it. I'm hoping we've finally reached the point of having a durable and affordable pistol mount...

Are manufacturers skipping the last step of a throating or finishing reamer because most folks shoot jacketed bullets these days? I always carry spare ammo, even though my life doesn't entail chasing bad guys into caves or buildings anymore. Whether it's a revolver or semi, I"ve always got at least one reload. I've usually got extra ammo on whatever long gun I've got in the truck with me.

Having one of the short shotguns like the Shockwave and your EDC gun will suffice in most cases. An AR pistol will give you more rounds and distance. Neither is wrong, just different tools. Remember, you're also driving a 3000lb battering ram, so that long skinny pedal on the right is your best frie...

I'd probably go with the 454. I'd pair it with a revolver in the same caliber, so I could use a couple of different bullet molds and keep them running. Along with the obligatory 12 gauge loaded with slugs or buckshot and a .22 rifle, I'd think all bases would be covered. However, I say all this as a...
