I am doing OK ... not having any pain issues. Still some cognitive things from the knock on the head and a small brain bleed. I find mathematical things a challenge. Before the crash I was playing Solitaire at the Master level and maintaining a better than 90% win average. I find now I can't do it. I have dropped back to the beginner level and am working my way up.
I do not remember the day of the crash. And I don't remember the first week in the hospital. I have some mixed up "memories" that I know are not real. It was quite confusing at the time.
The damage to the body is healing. Will be seeing a doctor Monday about the shoulder and clavicle and ribs. Had scans this week on the neck and carotid artery. So far so good.
I seriously do appreciate all the prayers!!

I saw an old western the other day, a guy had a crutch, holster fastened to the crutch and he just had to pivot the gun in the holster and shoot . I think we can rig your cane the same way!

I told my daughter that if the cane is permanent, it is being replaced with one that either has a sword or a pistol in the handle.

My cane is not permanent, but the need for it has no warning. I hope you can get by without one.

Jim, I know the feeling of having to carry a cane but not always needing it. But when you do, you do. Hmm, sounds like a handgun.
Mine is pretty much a permanent thing. Hopefully yours isn't, but you can make it a statement rather than a "durable medical device". I kind of look at it like ole Bat Masterson. A useful, in more ways than one, accouterment. Use one with flair and style.

I remember that on the Garry Moore Show, Durward Kirby had a hollow cane filled with bourbon. Not a bad idea.

Excellent idea!
I don't remember the first 15-20 minutes after my accident in 2012. Total memory loss. Stuff for the first 24 hours after that is somewhat sketchy. Had my bell rung hard. But I'd bet all mental capabilities come back. You are dedicated and will work your brain to get it back. Good luck Jim!
