All we know is that it was shipped from Calif. to Pa. in the 70's, wrapped in newspaper and stored along with several other interesting guns since that time.

I've seen one @ my LGS.... the barrel is only marked 336 in the usual spot.... the lever is "square" (rectangular) with a straight stock. Does the lever and stock make it a Texan or does it have to be marked "T" or some other letter? It's got low weaver rings and some kind of Sim...

Update:... the one I THOUGHT was an SC was in fact an RC... 30-30 born in 1952 ... I still may go back for it, but I really wanted a 30-30 in an SC. btw, the price was $295.00. There was an SC there in 32spl from 1958 w/ a tag of $349.00

I am wondering if the SC model had ballard or micro-groove rifling? I've been looking at one for some time now @ a local shop.... Can anyone expound a bit on this model? Value of one that has seen some wear but cycles smooth as silk and looks to be all original.

Sounds an awful lot like a Romanian Trainer Model 1969..... Are you sure it's stamped "U"SMC? and not IMC?..... is there also a "hole" in the stock butt w/ a spring hinged "trapdoor"? Look underneath the barrel near the front sight for some words.
