OT:.22LR Military training rifle
Sorry no pictures but sorta looked like an CZ trainer. The only markings on were USMC-2 then right below, 1971 , then right below that T-8449. The T-8449 was marked on both barrel and reciever. Sights were hooded ramped front sight, which kinda looked like it adjusted like an M16 front sight. Rear sight was fairly high, had 3 folding leafs on it. The barrel was stepped about halfway up. Also had swivels that didnt move. Stock was ugly blonde, but had been refinished. Receiver was all steel and was machined. Anyone seen or heard of these.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Sounds an awful lot like a Romanian Trainer Model 1969..... Are you sure it's stamped "U"SMC? and not IMC?..... is there also a "hole" in the stock butt w/ a spring hinged "trapdoor"? Look underneath the barrel near the front sight for some words.
