OT Hey I just read a good book...

Post by Bearhands »

Probably no suprise to you avid readers.. but "The Sixth Shotgun/The Rider of the Ruby Hills" by L. L'Amour is a great read!
Great characters, truly "visable" settings and a plot as thick as it gets. I just thought I'd suggest it to those who haven't gotten into Mr. L'Amours great works. I couldn't quit the last 100 pages.

I truly enjoy L. L'Amour's books; but my favorite was not a western: Last of The Breed -- something different and a great read. I let friends read my copy-- friends that said they would never read a "cowboy book"-- and they became fans of the writer (and so cowboy stories) because the liked how he could spin a yarn . . .

Last of the Breed, OH yes, one of my favorites, I have read it several times. I have a hardback copy that my late father in law loaned me, on my headboard, I guess he will never get it back, now. But I recond he would rather someone like me who appreciates the book have it as about anyone. One of the few things we had in common was Louis Lamar westerns.
