I had John Taylor do a 32-20 probably over 20 years ago. You couldn’t even find a seam at the muzzle. He did a great job.
I think he’s a member of this forum. Not sure of his current status for taking on new work.

Late to the party here and a moot point now since you bought a Ruger. I’ll answer for posterity and anyone who looks up this post in the future. If you want a shooter, go with the 357. You get modern steel, modern chamber and bore dimensions. It’s easier to feed with lots more ammo variety and selec...

I'm a big sixteen gauge fan but regard it as a bird hunting gauge versus a clay target gauge. I enjoy shooting pheasants mostly with 16 gauges through various side by sides, over and unders, drilling, semi-auto, and pumps. Because it's a classic hunting gauge and because its less popular and obscure...

I'm blessed that I was close to both my grandfathers.

Last week my Pepere would have turned 108. Yesterday I carried his Fox Sterlingworth in the field and shot a pheasant with it.
I do hope my grandfathers can look down upon me and see how I turned out and see my own boys growing into men.

A former Remington engineer I know once told me they were kind of a novelty to get varmint rifle ballistics from a deer rifle- but with accuracy that was mediocre at best.
