Recently traded into a side lever - a perfectly fine Weatherby Vanguard in .300 WBY - but while pondering optics -- the mounts it currently has are curious to me and i am not familiar with this system - although they cant be old as the rifle itself is likely not more than 20 years old
Any ideas what this is and if i should be sourcing rings for these mounts rather than tossing them and going with a more traditional Weaver type mount? I may not know the terminology of what i am looking for but i have been scouring both Burris and LEupold stuff online trying to find something that looks compatible and i may be temporarily stumped
Take a look at Leupold Dual Dovetail bases and see if that looks like them. Weatherby Vanguard takes Remington 700 bases, not Mark IV bases. https://www.leupold.com/dd-remington-700-2-pc-gloss
Looks like they’ve got two of the same base on to bring the rings closer together.
