Re: Marlin 62 .30 Carbine

The .30 carbine is a great round! It is fairly cheap to reload and is a hoot to shoot. I have a M-1 so I don't have any info on your particular model but have looking for the right one for a while now. My dad used his M-1 carbine for deer and it always made meat, I wouldnt recomend it unless you are...

california says its crule for me to trap animals, and they always know whats best, but years ago when it was still alowed my grandpa and I would go together. I carried a bolt .22 and he carried a colt D.A. .38 spl. during deer season we both carried 30-30's (winchesters) and he had a .22 revolver

95% of my deer hunting is with a winchester 94 30-30. The other 5% is with a remington 30-06. The 06 is my main elk gun, but it dose see some action in the hydrolic diggings for deer here in california. I am going to try the 30-30 on elk one of these days...

if your set on a bolt gun I would recomend a .223 ammo is a lot cheaper and they are LOUD and from my experience kids shure seem to like loud :D, if you are buying it for them to hunt deer get the .243, the heavy .223 make a decent deer round if used with in its limmits. My cosin swears by the 22-25...

If you can find one in a good "shooter" condition I would go with a colt 1908 .380, I love my 1903 .32 but the .380 is a better stopper. The little colts are compact, reliable, and have a nice single action trigger.
