Re: The experts all say shoot a .22
I can shoot my .22's in my basement range at the target box I build years ago. I live in a neighborhood where the yards are only 1/2 an acre, so pretty closer (closer than I'd like, anyway). But the .22 is fine, especially if it is suppressed or I use Aquila Colibri or Super Colibri rounds. Y2K chal...

It is indeed very grim. We have commy socialists in power. The king is now a muzzy many believe. I never felt British as a boy, I never got the mindset/s. I kinda knew it would get bad, just didn't know how bad. I do now. We are actually quite scared! N. Sorry Nath. It is always sad to see one's co...

Re: Air Force makes arrest in M18 Shooting death
Wow. Now the question becomes whether the discharge was truly accidental or not. Either way, the damage to Sig's reputation will only soften a little bit, given the other incidents. Puts them in that rock and a hard place where it could cost them millions and that was touched off by something entire...

Re: Inexpensive plates that I’m really liking
I was really bad when I was growing up. My favorite reactive target then, and now, was/is glass bottles. Very satisfying to see them explode. Not exactly environmentally safe. The old fence posts by the railroad tracks where we would shoot ended up with piles of broken glass knee deep around each! :D

Re: Way OT... Skechers "Slip-in" Sneakers
I discovered the slip on shoes a few years ago, and like the Skechers brand as well (though I've bought some no-name ones from Amazon). I got them due to my back, as I frequently can't bend over enough to tie shoes, and I'm not flexible enough to tie them sitting down either. Not all the time, but m...

Re: SIG P320s are scary
The M18/320 thing is unfortunate but it doesn't change the fact Sig has consistently produced top-tier guns like the P210, P22X DA/SA pistols and the 556 Series rifles. All have well earned reputations for 99+ percent reliability and I wouldn't hesitate a second to buy one. I've got a P226 40 that ...

I think that is the case with most gun companies, ammo companies, etc. A Democrat gets elected and everyone worries the bans and restrictions will start flowing. Purchases go up, which is good for business. A Republican gets elected, and the fear of bans and restrictions subsides, and sales fall. Th...

I have a bunch of them, mostly Howell, but also a couple of the Kirst Konverters where I had the revolver's recoil shield channeled for loading the cartridges. Most of the Kirst ones are two piece where the rear piece has one firing pin, a loading gate, and it sits in place while the cylinder (only)...

Re: Opinions on Officers Model 1911s??
Incidentally though - the real reason I first went with 'double-stack' 1911's in the first place, was I have long skinny fingers and the grip (which is only 3/16" more circumference vs my Colt single-stack) just FEELS better to me. So given the choice between a P-14 or P-12, even if they only ...

Re: Opinions on Officers Model 1911s??
The only Officer-size 1911 I've ever owned was a Para-Ordnance P12.45. Same barrel length, but a wide-body (double stack) .45 ACP holding 12 rounds in a standard magazine. Mine was made in Canada, and a very reliable one. I've qualified with it several times. I can't speak to the genuine Colts though.

A Merwin & Hulbert is my dream gun. Especially one with the skull-crusher on the bottom of the grip. I've always been fascinated with their mechanism. Way ahead of its time! But decent working models are $3K and up.
