Mine is a Davis. I wouldn't stoke it with hot .38's, and it is not really fun to shoot too many rounds through, but for contact distance, it will do the trick.

I’m trying not to drop below the.32 H&R in a J frame. But I have to tell you that the Ruger LCP has a certain appeal at times.
But I can’t get a pocket gun to shoot better than this.

The nearest military cemetery to my house is a forgotten family plot at the intersection of a couple roads in an area being developed. Nestled in a small grove of trees you'll find a family plot with 5 tombstones. Two are military ones (like Arlington), for a set of brothers who died during the Civi...

My "small always on me" gun, which slips easily into any pocket, is this one: https://i.ibb.co/bRygKjFf/044-Davis-D-38-Derringer-21.jpg I had the action worked so it is easier to cock, and being a .38 Special, it should thump pretty good across the distance I would fire it. Living in the s...

Re: Does anyone on here sleep in bed with a pistol strapped on?
Way too uncomfortable to wear a handgun while sleeping. I change from one side to the other at night, and can't imagine that working. I keep my .45 under the pillow where it wont interfere with good sleep. Ditto. With my back, I toss and turn constantly and rarely ever get a decent night sleep. A g...

As I recall it was a great story. I like simple guns. Singleaction and doubleactin sixguns with fixed sights. Semi-automatics with a minimum of operational controls (1911 .. High Power etc.) The less there is to go wrong. Just my preference. +1 AND... they just feel like "real guns" (versus the fantastic plastic)! :D

I once shot the PPC course with the Police Dept. using my .45 Colt single action. I had no problem running the course except for the last Stage, 12 shots in 10 seconds I think it was. I had a speed loader for the single action and could reload it pretty fast but not that fast! So I hid my .357 Blac...

I've noticed that things are increasingly trending to the ugly while out in the world.
