That's pretty cool! I love American history in general and Texas history specifically. We went to the Alamo when I was 7 or 8 years old. We lived in San Antonio for 3 or 4 years.

A guy I used to deer hunt with had one. We both handloaded, he could get his Remington pump 30-06 to group as well as I could my model 700. Both inside 1" at 100 yards off of the bench. He probably still hunts with it.

If you use a postal money order and it turns out that you were being scammed, the Postal Inspectors get involved as well as local law enforcement. Postal money orders are the way to go. IMHO

Back in the 90s I bought one in .308 I stuck a cheap Tasco riflescope on it for my 14 year old son to use. That gun was scary accurate with 165 gr. handloads. Wish I still had it.
