Only reason I can think of why I'd want a .429 bullet to expand is to LIMIT penetration.
I don't plan on shooting anything where that will be a concern.
Otherwise, that .429 will do what it does. Very well.

Re: Rossi R95 “Triple Black” 44 Mag
I’m not a huge fan of the black furniture.
For my good luck, some fella on eBay was getting rid of his brand new R95 wood he pulled off a 45-70 in order for him to install skeletonized tactical furniture.
I hope it fits the 44 mag. I’d lay good odds it will.

Re: Rossi R95 “Triple Black” 44 Mag
Looks like 2 or 3 rounds lost if the mag tube is cut flush with the handguard. Hopefully, I won’t need more than 3 or 4 rounds 44 magnum before topping off on animate targets. I can pull out my Garand I suppose if I find myself in that situation. Even Governor SpamBurger isn’t coming for my Garand t...

I’m interested if any of you have one of these, or have an opinion.
I have one inbound as a suppressor host.
Griffin 46 caliber “Bushwhacker” suppressor
Thinking about chopping the barrel back to the handguard for $0 SBR registration.
Good idea?… Foolish?

Re: Henry To Make a .41 Rem Mag Levergun
I'm surprised that anybody is debating the "practicality" of the .41 Magnum as may be offered as a Henry rifle. Surely, "practicality" cannot be the reason why any of us would buy such a thing. Who would argue that there aren't better choices for target-shooting, deer-hunting, or...

Re: S&W model 10
Four gentlemen tried a midday strongarm robbery on me across Scott Circle from the NRA headquarters in 1985. I jammed the front sight of my Model 10 into the nostril of the first foolish fellow, causing him to do an impressive back flip into the adjacent shrubbery. The other three fellows were summa...

I own a Browning Hi-Power which actually did see service service in one of those funny-speaking places. Pretty sure it was France. Has the French proofmark for sure. http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd7/rkba2da/pistol%20pics/Browning%20HiPower/BHPmuzzleding1.jpg http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/...

Re: OT: Where's the love for the .41 magnum
I already had a Model 29 in .44 Mag.
So, when my 41st birthday rolled around, I got myself a nice present.
I just wish I was still 41,... or something close to it.

Re: Need opinions on 1873 Winchester 32-20
That $300 will go a long way toward a modern Marlin 1894.
You say your 1873 shoots OK to 100 yards.
Unless you are planning on shooting it a whole lot, I think I'd keep my money, and enjoy the gun in the condition it already is in.

I've owned this one since 1974. My dad bought it for me off the rack for 94 dollars. Forgot about it for a while when I was in college. Came home and discovered some rust on it. Been taking better care of it since. http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd7/rkba2da/rifle%20pics/Winchester%20Model%2094/D...

Re: hammer extension buggered -- won't come off???
Aha! So its a teeny-eenie-eeny allen-type sets screw. Turns out its a 1/16" size. Isn't THAT dainty! Turns out too its not buggered either. Gotta wonder why the prior owner left it all loose and floppy like that. Something tells me this rifle was getting no love before. Thanks for the help. I w...

hammer extension buggered -- won't come off???
I didn't do it. It came this way. It seems to be still stuck on the hammer, but its all wobbly, and is completely spoiling the vibe. I want to get rid of it. (The hammer extension - not the rifle) So, did the prior owner wring the set screw off? Am I so lucky that the (missing?) screw head is suppos...

bore diameter - bullet selection - new Marlin 32-20 (1894CL)
I'm getting ready to order some JACKETED bullets for the 1894-CL. 32-20 caliber rifle. Looking for advice as to correct diameter, and recommended weights for jacketed bullets to use in the new Marlin. Hopefully something that's actually IN STOCK somewhere. Heck, while you're at it, how about pet loa...

Re: pistol primer or rifle primer for 32-20?
I'll also point out that Mr. Calhoon tells us in that same article: "(As a note of interest, small pistol primers are .017" thick and large pistol primers are .020" thick)" I'll probably be sure not use the small PISTOL primers in my atomic 32-20 loads in the Marlin. I've been kn...

Many thanks y'all for the replies. I figgered there might be some debate on this one. I will take it from the replies that EXPERIMENTATION is permissible. I'm not new to guns, reloading or gun-boards, so I promise not to blow myself up. I am considering that the 100-year-old K-frame might not be the...

pistol primer or rifle primer for 32-20?
First post on this forum.
I'm going to be loading for the 32-20 soon.
I'll be shooting the loads in a new Marlin and a 1907 K-frame Smith and Wesson.
Is there a consensus on rifle vs. pistol primer?
