Can anyone ID these AR parts?

Post by awp101 »

A couple of weekends ago, I took a rifle to the show with the intent to sell it and buy some parts for a couple of AR builds. I wound up trading it and got this in return:

OK, it's a French SACM Mle 1935A in .32 French Long. Yup, a roll yer own proposition and probably make your own brass unless I can find some. No, it's not an AR but I've been on the trail of one of these for 6-8 years now and the opportunity, funds and interest all hit at the same time.

One thing I do need help with. Can anyone ID this letter?

My guess is dropped three times and the last two were when it was refinished...

I'm 99% it is post-war production and there's a good chance it saw time in Indo-China or Africa. Or it may have just sat in an armory in Podunk, France.

A very, very few 35's are still around. Friend in the Legion, now out, had some MAB's and G1's (Beretta 92) issued in Afghanistan, and they still had a few old 35's around on the books.

I own a Browning Hi-Power which actually did see service service in one of those funny-speaking places.

Pretty sure it was France.

Has the French proofmark for sure.
