I have acquired several muzzle loaders over the years (decades!), and the one that I've tuned back into over the last year is an Armi Sport "Kentuckian" flintlock 45 calibre rifle. Bought it in my younger days back in the mid 80s, and never could get it to go off reliably because of the ch...

I had a 700BDL in 30'06 that was made in 79 or 80. Rifle was a tack driver, but I sold it three or four years ago to a dealer at a gunshow for $450.00. Had a Leupold 3X9 gold ring, but no bedding or anything else extra. Gander Mountain is showing them at $791.00 new, so I should think you'd get a li...

I have one in 44-40 with a 24" barrel, and it's a handsome, accurate rifle. The thing I like about the Chiappa 92 is that it's a very close copy of the original Winchester; you especially see it in the lines of the receiver. Fit and finish is outstanding. Mine's action was a bit stiff, so I sen...

'76s-you can tell by looking at the wrist of the stock; the receiver on a '73 extends noticeably further down into the wrist when compared to a '76. Great picture!

How do you go about stripping the wood? I've not messed with anything like that before, but if it's simple enough, I may want to give it a go as a stop gap until the funds are available for a trip to Turnbull. Looks like it's probably a pretty enough couple of pieces of walnut underneath.
