Anyone here converted a pistol grip 336 to straight stock without purchasing anything new,i.e. heating and bending the lever, cutting the stock down and filing the frame? Any pointers or links to someone doing this allready on the web? I picked up a beater today and need something to do after huntin...

Iffel was a great moderator, Palin reestablished herself and McCain, and Biden got Barrack and his views out very well. They both won in their respective ways. Thanks Kirk, Midway has some h335 on the way to me. I was wondering if you have worked with it at all with the Speer or your cast bullet. Also, any experience with 2400 using either bullet?

If anyone can help I am looking for a load that will give 2500+ fps out of a 20" barrel 30-30 using Speer 150 gr flat points. Can it be done staying around 40,000 cup. My newest reloading manual is 12 years old. Have their been any new powders come out to up the velocity?

I went to the valley today to pick up some reloading supplies and another 336. I have read the posts on one rifle, pistol, powder, bullet, mould, etc and several months ago after two decades of considering it, I came up with mine, and have been putting theory into practice. Re: .30-30 Accelerators... Are there any .35 sabots?
Correct me if I am wrong, but the 22 Rem. Jet was a necked down 357 that was supposed to give around 2400 fps and ended up only giving about 2000 fps out of an 8+ inch barrel. If a sabot was employed it would seem you would have a little more case/powder capacity and not have the problem of the case...

When I look at the pictures I see what you mean. When I hold it and shoot it, it is a different story. I felt the same about the Blackhawk when I first saw them until I got one and shot it. Now life doesn't seem right without one. The Henry is starting to grow on me the same way.
