My first rifle was a 22 Ranger single shot and that was back in the mid fifties. That rifle was about worn out when I got it. I completed the wear and it just plain wore out.

The Lyman 49th Manual, 1992, in its Contender/ Remington XP section has meager data for the 215 gr. SWC and the 205 gr. RN. My scanner is shot but if you want a copy of this data PM your email address and I will send pics of the data.

I always try both ends of the blank in the dovetail. The end that goes into the dovetail the farthest tells you that it is oriented correctly and you can tap the other end.
