Re: After Extensive Testing HD Weapon Of Choice

Warning: Unpopular Opinion to follow.... I guess sooner or later the Home Defense question always come up in every board. In one way this is a good thing as it shows we are concerned for the safety of loved ones and ourselves. In another its paranoia running wild. Its evident to many of us with some...

Re: My new levergun

I seen that one on Gunbroker and almost bid on it, but alas I had just bought too much recently. I am glad I didn't buy it and its in a nice home now. I have one of the repo 1895's in .270.

Also glad a lever addict got it!

Enjoy there is nothing like them.

Re: Winchester 1894 in .25-35 AI Update and conversion quest

Sixgun, I guess since its was rechambered for 25-35 Ackely Improved would a general reline of the barrel work? or would that just keep it at 25-35 since it was rechambered? Or would I need a reline and rechamber to get it back to original 25-35 wcf specs? Does your recommended guy do that as well an...

Winchester 1894 in .25-35 AI Update and conversion questions

Hey guys, A few weeks ago I posted some pics of my new 1906/07 vintage 1894 in 25-35 that someone a long long time ago had rechambered for .25-35 AI. Well I received the rifle and will soon have it checked out by a local gunsmith to see if there is any issue mechanically, etc... I can tell the bore ...

Prayers for the whole family...

No one can conceive what God has planned for those who love him. I know she is now without pain but pain rests in the hearts of those loved ones who are left behind.

May God grant you peace in this time of suffering.

Need some help - Original Winchester 1894 and AI 25-35

Hello Guys, I used Fathers Day as an excuse to purchase an original 1894 Winchester (1908) which was 25-35 and was moved to 25-35 Ackley Improved in the distant past. I feel like I got a good deal on it for $500 with a vintage peep sight that came with it. I know nothing about the AI cartridges. I w...

Final Decision Made,

Will stick with .270 and for now go with the Climbin Lyman Replica sight.

Thanks for all the opinions and Help. Once the sight is purchased and install I will send in some pics and hopefully some paper with some closely grouped holes in it to show how it shoots.

Requesting Opinions in relation to the New Rossi 92's

Gents (and Ladies if your out there), I'm thinking of picking up two other guns soon. A used Winchester 94 and coming to the question at hand a Rossi 92. I suppose I am having trouble picking a caliber. So perhaps I should list out my uses and such: 1.) Hunting in the thick Brush. I hunt in Bedford ...

Agreed, Hats off to them. Even though they may have higher prices than online retailers, Its the place I always buy my new guns from and sometimes that used Gem on the used rack. I appreciate all they do for us. Having ran a small business years ago I know the struggles they face every day. I thank ...

Having my own kids including a daughter I cannot understand how one could do these things to them. I am not a vigilante but I pray God that I never meet one of these men (traffickers) face to face for fear of what I might do to them. Re: 30-30 bullet recommendations

You know I liken the whole .30-30 not being enough 'myth' to something I seen on a nature channel a few years ago. There was a game reserve in Africa that was having issues with poachers and at the same time Young Bull Elephants killing Rhinos I think (may have the Rhino part wrong). One of the repo...

I am no .30-30 expert but all of what I have heard from old hunters in the first person sounds like the last few posters. Now granted I live in Virginia and we mostly hunt Deer and Black Bear (wish we had Hogs here) no-one outside of those who worship the gun rags thinks the 30-30 lacks anything in ...

That's a nice one sir. I once knew a fella who had a Marlin lever in .35 and he never felt like he needed anything else. Re: New Member and New Winchester 1895... plus a few questio

Shoot it first of course. If you like medium bores. I would look at boring it to 35 Whelen. Jesse offers that service. Not sure if there is enough meat in the barrel to bore it that far. I do know the internal magazine is cartridge specific. So you would want to stick with 30-06 based cartridges for...

Hello All, I have been one of those guys who has got a lot of information from this website and just finally joined up.
