Poll--What should be the next Marlin caliber?

I figure they would pass on the 35 caliber, because of the 356Win, and they make the 35 Rem gun now. I am thinking along the lines of a 375 Marlin Express or a 411 Marlin Express. Was leaning towards making a 411 Marlin express, but the 375 ME looks pretty good. Only thing that would keep me from ma...

Yes, it has the slider on the rear sight. Its as low as it can get. Need a front sight about .050" taller. Will probably scope it, but like to try open sights first, although its getting harder and harder to see the sights (55+).

Just picked up the 338MXLR this afternoon and thought "some light left--see if the wind is howling at the range" so off I went. Was kinda muddy and about a 10mph wind from 2 o'clock. Pulled it out of the box and checked the bore, so set up to try it out. First shot was about 20" high....

I shot plain old WW super x 22's thru my circa 1978 39A and that sucker shot like you wouldn't believe. Shot a 4 round group at 150yds that you could cover with a dime. Probably a fluke, as I didn't try a second, but they will shoot.

You could also take the 338 Marlin express and open it up for .375" bullets or go to .358" bullets and use the 35 cal Leverrevolution bullets (200 gr). I would think that you would be looking at 35 Whelen ballistics then. I am more thinking of going the .375 route with a rebored 338 mxlr (...

Yes, its a Ruger #1 rifle. Will try a different primer. Sizing my bullets to .360" diameter and right now the Lee 180gr is running just under 2,300fps with no leading and no idications of primer flattening or cratering. Guess I will keep on working at finding some more good loads. Thanks

What about taking the decapping part out of the die and using a vise to size the case. You would have to knock it out with a rod, but you could run the case alot farther up into the die. Kind of like the old lyman sizing dies.
