Re: Which short-action cartridge best equates to the .270 Win?

The 284 winchester in a BLR , the 284 can be handloaded to just about 7 mag velocity , only trouble is finding a blr in 284 without taking out a 2nd mortgage

value of a model 1894 made in 1923

I ran across a very nice model 94 made in 1923, the rifle has a long octagon barrel 26 inch im guessing with very good riflings, no case color left on the reciever, but no pits or crude either, there are no pits on the barrel either, the barrel is a nice pantina too it, and the gun is chambered in 3...

I love my 410"s I have 2 of them, a 22/410 over-under, and a side-by-side H&R external hammered gun that weighs less then 5 LBS,it is actually marked 44cal. but it works over my german shorthair pointer and pen raised birds.

make mine the 284 winchester, the original short fat cartridge, perfect for most of the big game in north america, lends its case to make some wonderful long range wonders {22-284, 6mm-284 } and its a short action too boot!! Too bad the only guys who ever had anything good too say about it, didnt wr...

Re: OT - Favorite Slug Loads

hobie, if your looking for a .72 caliber rifle, try some hornady SST slugs, they are about 2000 fps, and 200 yard shots are not much of a challenge, these shoot great in some of my slug guns, and "pattern " in others, shotguns are finicky, what 1 gun shoots good wont shoot out of another e...
