Re: 1892 Winchester

Cimarron Red, From looking at your pictures, I'd say you got rid of the pesky rebounding hammer as well as the tang safety. 'Cause that hammer looks to be resting fully forward. Jim HEAD001, I've had a Davidson's Winchester 1892 in .32-20 for a year now, and I'm very happy with it. I have a good loa...

Re: Rossi Puma Parts--Where to find??

Steve, Here's another good Rossi parts source: http://www.mmgunsmithing.com/ - I bought a 92 hammer & trigger from them a while back. To quote from their web page: Rossi's only authorized repair station. (imported by Interarms, LSI [Legacy Sports International] and EMF) Jim I need a screw for my...

My apologies, Nate. I misunderstood what you told me on the phone some time ago when I bought your DVD and we talked about the followers. Re: Rossi Model 92 Magazine Cap Screw

As with jd45, I bought mine from Winchester some years ago. They were for the Win/Miroku 1892 .45 short rifle and cost $5 each at the time. NKJ said they wouldn't work properly in the Rossi guns but that has not been my experience. I used them in several Rossi guns over the years and the Rossi rifle...

CowboyTutt, The LSI Puma rifles are not Rossi's; they made by Chiappa in Italy - http://www.legacysports.com/products/puma/puma_m92m86.html . The older Puma's were Rossi's but no longer. Unless rogn got an older Puma blame the problems on Chiappa not Rossi. I got an EMF Hartford (Rossi) 1892 .45 fro...

I bought one of those one of 500 series in .45 Colt from Legendary Guns in AZ some years ago. Great rifle once I got rid of that cursed rebounding hammer and lightened a few springs. Smooth stock, though, no checkering. It's one of my "never sell" rifles. Jim I know there was a 20" oc...

Cheapest place to get a Rossi 92 that I've found is Bud's Gun Shop: http://www.budsgunshop.com/ . Do an Advanced Firearm Search using Rifle by caliber. About $400 for the carbines; a bit more for the octagon rifles and the .454 Casull. Prices are cash/delivered. I'd also call Debbie @ EMF (800-430-1...

I have several USFA SAA guns; two SAAs, two China Camps, and three Rodeos. All fine guns. Were I to buy another USFA SAA of any persuasion, I'd buy it from Long Hunter. He does a full action job on the gun before you ever get the gun and his work is top drawer. The price is not that much more than j...

Re: How strong are the '73's?

Steve, If I'm not mistaken, the .44/40 was introduced with the '73. The '66 used the same rimfire cartridge that the Henry used. Later, the '92 came along and was also chambered for the .44/40. In the end, ya either accept the basic limitations and potential for it to leave ya flat of a SAA design, or ya swallow hard, (some would say give up the eyes of a child) and get ya a Ruger. USFA says their Rodeo's are every bit the same quality as their high end models. It's just the finish that's different. The one I handled looked and felt like a phosphate finish. Rossi 1892 rifles/carbines - Thanks to Debbie @ EMF

An earlier post mentioned that the Rossi 1892 was junk and after receiving my EMF Hartford 1892 .45 Colt carbine just last week, I had to respond to that ridiculous statement.
