Loads I use in my 20" Uberti (standard warnings apply, assuming no responsibility that they will be safe in yours!) are as follows: 1. 10.5/AA5/255 cast 2. 8.7/Unique/255 cast 3. 17.2/SR4759/255 cast 4. 12.9/Blue Dot/255 cast 5. 9.0/Unique/240JHC(Sierra). All cast loads were made in a Lee mold,...

I owned a Pre '64 Model 70 in a .300 H&H for quite a few years. In its original stock, it "kicked like a mule" from too much "drop" in the stock (IMO). I had it mated to a Bell & Carlson composite stock with their wide recoil pad and it "tamed" the recoil to '06...

Reduced loads that work in my 444P (1:20 twist and 18 1/2" barrel) are: 1.) 13.0/Unique/122gr (.433) round ball cast @ 1664fps 2.) 13.0/Unique/240SWC cast @ 1475fps. Both loads shoot 1 to 2" low at 50yards from my regular hunting load, while the worse group is not over 1 1/4" group in...

The "Sweet-Sixteen" A5 is my favorite with the Beretta 390 a close second because it has the softest recoil of any 12ga I have owned to date. Neither gun has failed to fire regardless of climate conditions or load!

I just had a crown put on my left rear molar 5 days ago to complete the "implant" procedure. My dentist (a cousin) recommended the implant; for I had a "dead" tooth that had to be removed. The procedure was in 3 stages: (1) removal of the tooth, implant "socket" put int...

I read somewhere that he had cancer and even did the last couple of his episodes knowing they would be his last. The last episode I saw of that series featured his brother, Mycroft, and the good "doctor" solving a case in his absence (not quite up to Britt's standards, I might add). Like B...

Hightime - I've not used a wad or fillers in pistol cases due to the small volume, but I've read where some shooters use them. These very fast burning powders ("tip-up, tip down" type like Bullseye) develop pressures so rapidly that I'd be afraid to add to the pressure "spike" by...

Junk - I own a 28 gauge Bakail and it is an excellent, inexpensive double. Its chokes are "fixed" I.C/Mod; it patterns well, locks up tight, and has little recoil. It is not an "all around" gauge, but far more effective than a .410 bore in my opinion. Matter of fact, its bore at ...
