I carry a 2.5" Model 19 in nearly all circumstances. A Simply Rugged Pancake with the little straps for carrying it inside the waistband is my holster of choice. Sometimes if it's really cold (and therefore wearing a big jacket) I'll pack an N frame but not too often or for too long.

My Model 58 with the service stocks fits that description.
It also feels oh-so right in a Simply Rugged pancake holster riding on my hip.

Super cool find! They are great molds, I have a couple in Keith designs. Like Sixgun, I've never seen that particular mold before but it's nice that you have a hollowpoint cavity and a solid cavity. Looks like you need to fire up the lead pot, eh?

I tend to get about 15 reloadings out of my 45 Colt brass but I run them a bit hotter than you do and am a fan of a very heavy crimp. As for 45 ACP, I've got about 10 reloadings on my pile of brass and haven't lost any yet, nor do I expect to anytime soon. (I only got a sixgun with a 45ACP cylinder ...

I shoot the old Gould bullet a lot and it is my favorite for deer sized game. This is one of those things that just annoys the bejeezus out of me. I was also kinda ticked off when IMR powders started coming in the Hodgdon bottles since I had just built a new reloading bench with a bunch of storage space sized for the old metal cans. Frustrating.

I've never had much luck with the small autos. My dad has an LCP and loves it but for me the only way to go is a sixgun. I like my 2.5" Model 19 as it's quite easy to shoot yet reasonably concealable but occasionally the 642 gets slipped into my pocket.

Heavy and slow is the way to go for me. They work reliably all the time. With the needle-guns shooting at high velocity you are counting on bullet construction for effectiveness on game. With a heavy slow bullet it just plugs right along. Even if you have a cast hollow point break up there is enough...
