OT - Anyone watching "A Taste of History"?

RLTV runs this cooking show where this chef cooks the old fashion way, in a big fireplace. Uses a lot of cast iron and eqpt from 200 years ago.
I know there's a lot of dutch oven guys here, and the chef, Walter Staib sounds to me like an old German. Lots of history is part of the show. - Brian

Enough of this noise, take your 22 and put them on a Black and Decker bench in a plastic vise and find out just how well this stuff shoots! 22 are notoriously over built. ( but do it from a distance and use a string).

Could you put up large potted plants? that way you are putting in "landscaping" and not animal shields.

A wrist-rocket with steel balls or some 50 cal muzzle balls might have a better thwack than a pellet gun. Maybe less damage from skin penetration, but more pain. Course I'd be heeled long before I went out to do my David bit. :lol: -Brian

Doing these classes is my idea of a vacation. I've done classes with Ayoob, Farnam, Snarcy & the Gnome (God rest him), Andy Stafford, and Bob Taylor. That and I'm off to RangeMasters for the Tactical Conference the end of the month.

In a rem 788, there is not a lot to worry about. Built like a bank vault. It had better be 'cuz I miss quoted the load. I just rechecked and the load is supposed to be 3.1 of TG, and not 3.5. At 3.1 the psi is running 4000psi. And here I am running a 30% overload throwing 4gr. :oops: -Brian :D

In the Hodgdon annuals, they show 3.5 of Tightgroup under a 55gr jacketed, for around 1000+fps. I load 4gr for two reasons, I like to live on the edge sometimes, that and 4gr is what I burn under a 200gr swc in my H&K USP45, and don't want to change the powder thrower. Sounds like a cap gun goin...

When that store opened, it added to my Saturday morning rounds that I make to visit all the pre-loved irons out there. Bad news - Leo's got a Kimber 1911 in 10mm that I don't need to buy. I'd drop the Unique and go for the Power Pistol. It does everything Unique can, and its finer grained and meters better. Keep in mind that men often suffer from ferrite overload and we have no way to reduce the iron in our bodies( except Blaine though ). Donating blood fixes this. That answer of course leads to questions of armaments. i would think a walking stick at minimum, and a pocket full of rocks. Maybe an atlatl, slug shot, or David type sling. Anything like an eagle that could carry off a newborn kid? -Brian
